For those who maintain an active lifestyle, sweat is a common reality. Regular deodorant is often the suggested solution, but commercial brands usually contain a number of chemicals and are only designed to be used on certain parts of the body. Here is an all-natural method for creating a deoderizing powder that can be used all over the body.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Corn Starch
  • Essential Oil
  • Mixing bowl
  1. Step 1

Take 1/2 cup of organic cornstarch and put it into a small mixing bowl. Add five drops of a specialized essential oil, which depends on your preference. The most popular selections are peppermint, lavender, and rosemary. Try to pick one that is strong in smell and common to most situations. If the scent is too powerful or unusual it may become overbearing to wear on a consistent basis.

  2. Step 2

Make sure that the drops are well dispersed around the cornstarch in the bowl. Pour the scented cornstarch into a small jar that has a lid. Seal the cap tightly and shake the contents thoroughly.

  3. Step 3

Use the deodorizing powder on a consistent basis. It can also be used as a preventative measure on the inside of your clothing, and should be applied right before you put the clothes on. There is not one specific amount that should be used, mostly because everybody's body type and need is unique. Try using about 1 tbsp. of powder at first, then increase if needed. If you use too much you may have excess powder that could remain on your clothing or body.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try using the deodorizing powder at least once a day, depending on sweat patterns.
  • Do not use on an irritated part of the skin.
  • Do not get water into the jar because this could cause the deodorizing powder to clump and could end up being useless.
