If you are searching for a new get-up for a costume party or you are just intrigued by an alternate appearance, the "Suicide Girl" look may be a worthy makeover for you. You don't even have to get an outrageous dye job, permanent tattoos and actual piercings. Before you make any commitments, try on your choice of colored wigs, fake tattoos and clip-on jewelry along with your wild child makeup. Begin your experiment by playing with your makeup.
Things You'll Need
- Medium- to full-coverage foundation
- Brow color and grooming tools
- Vivid colors and textures
- Fake tattoos
Plan your look before you begin tinkering with makeup. Suicide Girls wear their makeup in a vast variety of ways, including fetish, extreme glamour, punk, rock and goth. Essentially, any style that appeals to you that is considered alternative and not traditional will do.
Begin with base. You want to create a blank canvas for your makeup, especially if your look is on the theatrical side or fantasy themed. Fuller coverage foundation is a better choice than sheer, but you can thin it down by applying it with a damp sponge if your complexion is already close to flawless.
Groom your brows. What you are going for may not require perfect eyebrows, but their shape can make a powerful and expressive statement. For a dramatic look, tweeze strays and trim hairs that are too long. Fill brows in with a color slightly darker than your natural one. Apply with feather-soft strokes to build your application gradually. Focus on the arches and fill in the entire brow, not just the sparse areas. For total creative control, you may completely cover your brows and reshape them with makeup (see Resources).
Choose from a selection of bold and vibrant colors and textures for your eyes, cheeks and lips. You don't have to apply your makeup in the style of conventional beauty makeup, where blending and symmetry are musts. Even if you are doing a glamour look, you can use colors that are more striking than those on your everyday palette.
Add whimsical touches. Let your inner artist play. Draw symbols on your face or glue decals on in a creative pattern. Don't stop at your face. Sport a fake tattoo or two on areas like your neck, your upper back, your lower back and your arms.
