Things You'll Need:
- Punch bowl
- Red roses
- White floating candles
- Green food coloring
- Sprig of holly
- Gold or silver glitter
-
Step 1
Purchase a crystal punch bowl. Choose a fluted or cut glass feature around the rim to enhance the effect of this wonderful water bouquet. Create a glittery rim by applying a thin strip of white glue and adding gold or silver glue. Pour glitter into a shallow pan or plate. Apply glue to the punch bowl and dip the rim into the glitter. Allow it to dry completely.
-
Step 2
Fill the bowl to two inches from the rim with water. Add several drops of green food coloring and mix well to distribute the color. Add additional drops of food coloring until the water is a rich green.
-
Step 3
Place 6 to 8 small white floating candles into the punch bowl. Choose heart-shaped candles if available; otherwise round candles are fine. Apply glitter to the candles first, if preferred. Heat the candle slightly with a blow dryer or until the wax begins to soften. Sprinkle glitter over the candle and allow to cool. Use care not to add too much glitter; a little goes a long way.
-
Step 4
Apply a few sprinkles of glitter to a sprig of holly by dotting it with glue and sprinkling glitter over it. You could also spray it with glitter glue. Allow it to dry, then add the holly sprig to the punch bowl.
-
Step 5
Select three or four perfectly shaped red roses. Choose roses that are partially open for the best effect. Float the rose on the water in the punch bowl.
-
Step 6
Set the bowl on a white lace doily with a few evergreens or holy around the base.
-
Step 7
Sprinkle glitter over the water and light the candles to create a sparkling rose and candle centerpiece.
