Instructions

  1. Make Laundry Bags

    • 1

      Wash your old pillowcase.

    • 2

Fold the opening edges of your pillowcase inward 1 inch and press this fold.

    • 3

Pin the fold and top stitch ¼ inch from the rough edge of the fold.

    • 4

Make a snip in the fold in the middle of the front or the back of the pillow, but make sure that you don't snip through the top stitch you just sewed.

    • 5

Thread an old shoelace through the fold, knotting each end of the shoelace once it is threaded through, so that it won't slip inside the fold and get lost. Now you have a drawstring laundry bag, perfect for anyone living in an apartment building or in a college dorm.

    Make a Pet Bed

    • 6

Rip the seam along one long edge and the short edge of two pillows if you are making a bed for a large dog. If you are making a pet bed for a cat or small dog then you can use the pillowcase as is. For those who are using two pillowcases, place them together so that the outside of each pillowcase is against the outside of the other pillowcase, or right side to right side. Sew the pillow cases together along the edges leaving about a 5-inch opening on one of the edges so you can turn it right side out.

    • 7

Stuff your pet bed with plenty of stuffing so that it is nice and firm, not lumpy.

    • 8

Pin together the opening that you used to stuff the pet bed and either machine sew it closed with a top stitch or hand sew the hole shut.

    • 9

Place your new pet bed on the floor for your pet to enjoy.
