It is very common for women to shave their pubic area. Unfortunately, one of the main problems associated with shaving this part of the body is ingrown hairs. Once you have ingrown hairs, getting rid of them may seem hopeless. Since ingrown hairs can cause itchiness and pain, you will also probably feel very uncomfortable. Luckily, you do not need to suffer any longer. Here are some tips that will benefit anyone interested in addressing this annoying problem.

Things You'll Need:

  • Sterilized tweezers
  1. Step 1

Take preventative action. You will need to know how to shave properly. Never shave without a good shaving cream. Soak in warm water for a few minutes before shaving. Use a quality razor with more than one blade, and trim long pubic hair with a pair of scissors. Finally, always make sure that you shave the hair against the direction in which it grows.

  2. Step 2

Try to use a pair of sterilized tweezers to remove the visible ingrown hairs. If they are buried into the skin, removing them with a pair of tweezers is probably not going to work. If you think that getting rid of the ingrown hairs seems impossible, soak in warm water for a few minutes. Then, gently try to pull the hairs all the way out.

  3. Step 3

Let the ingrown pubic hairs go away naturally. This means not shaving the pubic area or at least shaving around the ingrown vaginal hairs. Know that there are several things that you can do to speed up the process, such as soaking in warm water whenever possible and exfoliating the skin.

  4. Step 4

Visit a doctor if you are afraid that your ingrown hairs may be infected. Although this is not all that common, it is possible for it to happen. If the area with the ingrown hairs is infected, taking an antibiotic may be necessary. Try to visit your gynecologist as soon as possible if you notice unusual symptoms.

Tips & Warnings
