Things You'll Need:

  • Foundation
  • Cleanser
  • Toner
  • Moisturizer
  • Primer
  • Eye shadow
  • Eye liner
  • Face putty
  • Lipstick
  • Mascara
  • Face makeup
  • Translucent powder
  • Glitter
  • Highlighter
  1. Step 1

Prep your face. Before you begin applying witch makeup, it is important to prep your face for the process. Cleanse your face with your favorite cleanser and towel dry it gently. Apply your favorite toner with a cotton ball and follow up with moisturizer. Allow your skin to absorb the moisturizer for at least 10 minutes. This will prevent the makeup from slipping off of your face.

  2. Step 2

Apply primer. Since a key component to witch makeup is face makeup, it’s important that you apply a primer. After your moisturizer has absorbed into your skin, apply the primer to your face. The primer will prevent oily skin and help your makeup stay on longer.

  3. Step 3

Apply face makeup. Depending on what kind of witch you are dressing up as, this step may vary. If you are going to be a sexy witch or standard witch, apply foundation using a damp sponge, a foundation brush or your fingers. If you’re using special effects face makeup, apply a light coat of the makeup onto your skin. If you desire a darker look, apply a second coat. Once the special effects makeup or foundation is complete, set it with translucent powder.

  4. Step 4

Apply eye makeup. Smokey eyes are popular for witch makeup. In order to do this you must apply a medium-toned color as a wash over your eyelid. Use a shade that is 1 to 2 times darker than that to contour your eye. Make sure to blend well. You can use either browns, grays or purple colors for this look. Line your eye with eyeliner and follow up with a coat of mascara.

  5. Step 5

Apply any extras. If you’re dressing up as a sexy witch, you might want to apply a highlighter or glitter to your face. Carefully dab the highlighter or glitter on the areas where you want extra sheen. If you’re dressing as a scary witch, you may want to add a wart to your face. Create a wart use the face putty and apply it to the desired location. If you want the wart to be darker, you can color it with a dark brown eyeliner.

  6. Step 6

Create your smile. Line your lips with lip liner and blend the line into your lips. Follow up with a layer of your favorite lipstick. The color can vary based on the look that you are going for.

Tips & Warnings
  • To create a smoldering look, use a smudge brush to smudge the eyeliner into your lash line. This will give your smokey eyes a kick.
