How to Schedule Reminders Online

Scheduling reminders online is easy with the free Web application Remember The Milk. With Remember The Milk, you can create to do lists and send the reminders to your email, your instant messenger or your cell phone. Remember also offers seamless integration with Google applications like Google Calendar and Gmail. Get rid of the stickies around your monitor and go digital.

Instructions

    • 1

Set up a free account on Remember the Milk's website (see below for the Web address). You will need an email address to verify your account.

    • 2

Allow Remember the Milk to store information on your computer through Google Gears only if you want to access your to-do lists offline. You will be given the option to install this application on your desktop, startup menu or quick bar. Choose the option that best suits your preferences.

    • 3

Go to the "Tasks" option to get started. You will see the following options: "Inbox," "Personal," "Work," "Study" and "Sent." You can immediately start adding tasks to these lists by clicking the "add task" option or typing "t" on your keyboard (as a shortcut).

    • 4

Fill out the due date, time, tags and any notes pertaining to the task in the box to the right. Also, select the priority status of the task.

    • 5

Delete tasks by clicking the check box immediately to the left of the task and selecting "Delete" from the drop-down box.

    • 6

Set up reminders to be sent to your email address. Go to "Settings," then "Reminders" and select "Email" from the drop-down box. You can have reminders sent to various email addresses.

    • 7

Set up reminders to be sent to your instant messenger or your cell phone via the same drop-down box.

    • 8

Integrate your Remember The Milk tasks with your Google Calendar, so that you only use one website for all your tasks.

    • 9

Send reminders to Remember The Milk via email, instead of logging into the site. Remember, The Milk gives you a specific email address (located in "Settings" and "Info").

    • 10

Call in your reminders through the free voice-to-text service Jott (see Resources below).
