No what matter your experience and skills, you can find a work-from-home job that you will enjoy.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine your passion. We all have that something that we enjoy doing and can make money with it. Some people sell gift baskets, some create art through graphic design, while others write for money. Think about the things that you already do for fun (your hobbies) and figure out how you can turn that passion into your work-from-home job.

    • 2

Write down all of the things you love to do. It could be writing, reading, watching horror flicks, listening to classical music, pencil drawing and volunteering at schools. Yours may look quite different, but this gives you an example. Think about what you truly enjoy doing without any outside influences.

    • 3

Narrow down your list and cross off those you don't really enjoy doing that much. The passions on your list should be the things you not only enjoy to do, but also have to do. These passions are things you probably couldn't live without being able to do in some way. A lot of professional writers who work from home say they would write no matter what. These are your true passions. This process could take a few minutes or a few days, but it is worth it. Keep narrowing it down until you discover your one true passion.

    • 4

Research your chosen passion/work-from-home job choice. Visit your local library to take out books on the topic. Search online for forums related to your topic so you can discuss your plans with others who have been where you are. Read various articles and blogs about your chosen work-from-home job.

    • 5

Create your resume. You probably already have one, but you need to emphasize the experience you have already had with your chosen work-from-home job. It may not be much, but it is a start.

    • 6

Do some mock work to start building your portfolio, experiences, reputation and clientele. In order to gain more clients you will need to show them what you are capable of. If it is writing, then you need to write some samples to show to potential clients.

    • 7

Apply for work from home jobs at various websites to get your career going.

Tips & Warnings

  • Watch out for work-from-home scams that want your money to start (filling envelopes job that you have to pay for).

Deedee I do see those barriers come up when looking for a legit at home job. All the RAM and the GHz your pc must have and headset, extra phone line, etc...It's a lot of things to do in getting your home office work ready but....it's well worth it in the end. No commute, no dress clothes, no paying for gas, no daycare, it really works in itself. You should try applying for that job in Sandy's siggy. I applied and awaiting my interview. I think they might hire for more than web designers too. Maddy
