Most email programs will not send files greater than ten megabytes or so, and that can be a real downer when you want to get files to someone fast. Mediafire is an online hosting and storage site that makes the upload and transfer of large files a breeze.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • PC with Internet connection (preferably not dial up)
  1. Step 1

Go to Mediafire.com in your web browser, and click on "Create a Free Account," outlined in the upper right hand corner in a red box in the caption. Fill in your email address and password when the box appears and click the yellow "Create a Free Account."

  2. Step 2

Go to the "Upload Files" tab at the top (outlined in orange box with arrow), and click the large green "Upload Files to MediaFire" button (outlined in a red box with arrow).

  3. Step 3

Browse your computer when the file box opens up, and once you find and click on the file you wish to upload, click "Open" (outlined in red box with arrow).

  4. Step 4

Click the large green "Start Upload" button when the upload screen appears (red box with arrow in caption).

  5. Step 5

Choose to upload to a new folder, or to your main folder (red box with arrow).

  6. Step 6

Click on the "My Files" tab at the top (orange box with arrow) after the upload progress is at 100% (red box with arrow). You can then click on the file and copy the location to give to others so they can download the information.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can get bigger files on MediaFire if you compress them first into a *.zip or *.rar format.
