    Jingle Bell Door Hanger

  1. Step 1

Cut the fleece material to 18 by 5 inches. You are going to hang it over the doorknob, so fold over from the top 2 inches. Cut a slit in the material about 3 inches long. Fold in half lengthwise and cut another slit 3 inches wide, crossing the first slit and starting at the center. Now the material will slide right over the doorknob.

  2. Step 2

Decorate the material by painting on "Noel" down the center or "Peace" at the top, just under the doorknob slits, then "Hope" in the middle and "Joy" at the bottom. Paint the border all the way around white to look like snow. Dab the brush on instead of strokes for more realistic snow. Paint on a wreath of holly leaves and berries around the doorknob slits. Use a spray fabric glue and dust with glitter.

  3. Step 3

Starting about an inch under the doorknob slits, and right in the center, loosely sew on a large jingle bell. Then sew one on every 3 inches all the way down. Go back and forth with the thread a few times to make sure it's strong. Sew it loose enough that the bell hangs free and isn't pulled up tight against the fabric. Hang on the doorknob.

  4. Reindeer Collar

  5. Step 1

Use a short wide leather belt. If it doesn't have holes all the way from on end to the other, you can make them by using a utility knife point and cut through the leather. Do this slowly from the back of the belt. Don't try to push it through; just cut a tiny slit.

  6. Step 2

Put craft wire from the back to the front and then through the hanger of the jingle bell. Give it enough room to hang free and not be up tight against the belt. Go back through the hole to the back and twist the wire about 1 inch long. Bend the wire over and back to keep it from going back through the hole. Repeat until there is a jingle bell in every hole.

  7. Step 3

You can paint on a few holly leaves and berries if you want to, but reindeer collars are not usually decorated. Hang in the middle of the back of your door by the belt buckle. Every time someone goes out or comes in, you will hear lots of jingling.
