Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Feeding your pet two tablets of Brewer’s yeast once a day until the problem is gone. This can be dangerous for some animals, so see if allergic reactions occur after the first few days. This can be used in conjunction with garlic, which should be added liberally to their daily food intake.

  2. Step 2

Apply a conservative amount of organic calendula oil to the animal's coat.to help prevent fleas from attaching themselves to the pet in the first place. This helps repel fleas and deals with the associated itching.

  3. Step 3

Put a small amount of vinegar in the pet's drinking water. Put about 1 teaspoon of vinegar to every 5 cups of water in the animal's dish. Feel free to incorporate the vinegar into your pet's regular bath, applying liberally before shampooing.

  4. Step 4

Pour 1/8 of a teaspoon of eucalyptus oil and an 1/8 of a cup of wintergreen essential oil into a small mixing bowl. Add a cup of filtered or distilled water and mix the solution thoroughly until it is a consistent color and texture. Put the solution into a large plastic spray bottle, which you can spray all over your house and furniture. This will repel the fleas without incorporating harsh chemicals.

  5. Step 5

Spray a diluted vinegar solution in select areas around the house. Do not mix this with the oil-based solution as the vinegar will overpower the scent of the eucalyptus and wintergreen essential oils. It is also safe to spray on your pets. This solution can be kept for several weeks, and is best if stored in the refrigerator.
