Step 1
The first step to being a good fantasy football player is being present at the draft so you can pick your own players. The computer will randomly pick players for you, but they don't do so according to what you need on your team.
-
Step 2
Pick up good running backs early, they are the key to getting points for your team.
-
Step 3
A good quarterback is the next thing that you should look for, after taking a RB in the first and second round, in the 3rd round look to pick up a quarterback.
-
Step 4
From here on out, pick up a good defense and good wide receivers. Wide receivers are inconsistent and so are defenses so choose accordingly. Even the best WR's aren't exactly the best pick.
-
Step 5
Look at the free agents every week. Typically a good running back will go down about every week and you can pick up his backup who will generally get some good points as well.
-
Step 6
Always plan ahead for your bye week. When you know you have a good player with a bye week coming up look to get somebody to replace him for that week. The best people to get are decent players playing bad teams.
-
Step 7
If your league has a playoff system in place for the last 3-4 weeks of the regular NFL football season, then look for players that play bad teams in those weeks. If you have rather good players that play bad teams in those weeks then you could make a good playoff run, but even if you have the best players who play against good defenses they might not put up many points that week.
