Step 1
Impulse buys are the most expensive part of shopping. If you can eliminate them, you can save alot of money!
-
Step 2
Never go shopping on an empty stomach! When you're hungry, you tend to pick up extra foods you hadn't planned on buying.
-
Step 3
Try to only shop once a week. If you go out for a couple of items during the week you tend to pick up additional items that you don't need.
-
Step 4
Plan out some meals for the upcoming week. Try to follow the sales in your local circular. Create your list accordingly. This not only saves you money, but it saves you time thinking about what you're going to have for dinner every night!
-
Step 5
Online coupons are great! Your local newspaper may have online coupons that usually coincide with supermarket circulars. I like: www.anycoupons.com www.coolsavings.com www.fatwallet.com

on 10/12/2008 Another hint: If you do plan meals for a week, use Meals.com (free-sponsored by Betty Crocker, I think), where you can store recipes, add your own, and it will create a grocery list for you. :) Great tips!! Thanks!!
