Go to eBay.com and put in the search: "Lot Enfamil Lipil" (or insert whatever brand baby formula you are looking for.) Several listings for bulk cans of formula will pop up.

Getting the best deal will take some math, but it's easy. You will see different size lots. There could be one listing of just three cans, or another with ten cans. To decide which listing is the best value, get the total cost, including shipping, and divide by the number of ounces (or cans if they're all the same size). You can use cans or ounces, but always remember to compare apples to apples. Example: One listing is selling a 12.9 oz can and a 25.7 oz can together for $17.53 (including shipping.) That's approximately 45 cents an ounce. Stores sell the 25.7 ounce cans for $20-$25 a can, thats a dollar an ounce! Big difference! You will see about a 30% difference on eBay on average.

Set your limit for how much you will pay per ounce or can. Do not place a bid for more than that amount. If the auction gets too high, move to the next auction. Your maximum price may change based on demand or your need at the time.

Always make sure the seller has noted the expiration dates on the cans. If there is no expiration date, don't bid. Few sellers will try to sell expired formula because it won't sell. I have never seen someone try to sell opened cans either, but always make sure they are advertised as factory sealed.

Look for auctions that sell the formula checks and coupons also. A lot of them have formula PLUS some great savings coupons, even better!

Once you win an auction, pay for it through PayPal, and you're done! Since shipping takes time, always make sure you order before you run out. This method saved me literally HUNDREDS of dollars when my daughter was a baby and I wish more people knew about it!

Why do people sell formula on eBay? There are lots of different reasons. Maybe they realized their child was allergic or didn't like that type of formula after they already bought tons of it. Or maybe their child grew out of formula and they still had some left. I also once knew a delivery truck driver who sold formula on eBay and made a fortune. He said if there were any cases of formula on his truck that had a single dent or scratch, they had to throw the whole case out. So he would take them home and sell them on eBay for $5 a can. It was great for him, but even better for me when I used to buy him out every week!
