Instructions

    • 1

Preheat oven to 375. Spray cooking dish with cooking spray, or wet paper towel with cooking oil, coat sides and bottom of lasagna pan. The deeper the pan, the more layers you can add to your lasagna.

    • 2

Place a dab of oil in pan and saute onions and garlic over medium heat for a few minutes. Add ground beef and brown, stirring frequently. When beef is cooked through, drain off fat and set beef mixture aside.

    • 3

Spoon a few spoonfuls of spaghetti sauce in bottom of lasagna pan, use back of spoon to spread to a thin layer. Place first layer of lasagna noodles on bottom, overlapping noodles in middle of pan and leaving a half inch or so from sides of pan. Chip off edges of noodles if necessary.

    • 4

Spoon another layer of sauce on noodles, you want to spread it out easy to the edges of the pan, and you're aiming for a layer about a half inch thick. Sprinkle on layer of beef mixture. Add about a half inch layer of mozzerella cheese. If you would like to add fresh herbs, this would be where to chop and layer them in. Basil is a fantastic addition! Top with another layer of noodles, and repeat sauce, meat, and cheese. Top with a third layer of noodles, then top with remaining sauce, ensuring plenty falls down into sides of pan. Top this layer with a generous layer of mozerella and parmesean cheeses. If your pan is deep enough, add an extra layer.

    • 5

Cover dish with foil, and bake your homemade lasagna covered for 40 minutes. Uncover, and bake lasagna an additional 15 minutes, until cheese is browned to your liking. Let stand 5-10 minutes before cutting and serving. Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings

  • If you like Ricotta cheese, try spreading Ricotta or Cottage Cheese onto it's own layer somewhere in the middle. Just spread onto lasagna noodles, and top with another layer of noodles.

  • If you like your homemade lasagna meatless, omit ground beef. Substitute with veggies of your choice, zucchini makes a great addition.

  • Your homemade lasagna will be HOT when coming out of the oven. Use care while handling.

  • Steam may escape causing burns when removing foil, be careful!
