Determine Your Tithe

Tithing is a biblical principle in which believers return to God the first fruits of their labor. The amount of the first fruit is 10% of all income before taxes (or a dime out of every dollar) paid to your local church.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paystub
  • Calculator
  1. Step 1

On your paystub, locate your gross income (income before taxes).

  2. Step 2

To calculate your tithe, multiply your total gross income by 10%. (Example: $2500 x 0.10 = $250).

  3. Step 3

    Repeat every pay period.

  4. Step 4

Keep a record of your tithes and offerings for tax purposes. Your tithes and other charitable donations are tax deductible.
