Taking good care of your dentures is just as important as taking care of your natural teeth. To keep your dentures looking sparkling white and clean, you need to keep up with your daily maintenance. Here are some easy steps to keep your dentures in good condition.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dentures
  • Daily care
  1. Step 1

Clean your dentures daily. When you are cleaning your dentures, use a soft bristled brush. When you are doing your regular cleaning, hold the dentures over a container with water, to avoid dropping and breaking it.

  2. Step 2

Some foods can stain your dentures, so be selective of certain foods that you eat.

  3. Step 3

Your dentures needs flossing just like natural teeth. Floss your dentures daily to prevent plaque build-up and to remove remnants of food from between the teeth.

  4. Step 4

When you first receive your dentures, you may have to wear it almost all the time, to allow it to get accustomed to your mouth. After a few weeks you should remove your dentures when you go to sleep at nights.

  5. Step 5

When you are not wearing your dentures, store them in a container with water. The water should never be hot. Always store the dentures in cold water. Keep them away from children and pets.

  6. Step 6

After removing your dentures, clean your gums and tongue. Massage your gums to help promote healthy gums.

  7. Step 7

Visit your dentist if your dentures are uncomfortable and hindering you from enjoying your meals. Wearing a denture doesn't mean that you should feel pain when eating.
