We all know someone that is a golf fanatic. The trouble is that you can only buy the same gifts so many times before they get boring.

In this article you will learn how to make a simple, but cute knick knack that they, and all of your family and friends will love for years to come.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Golf Balls
  • Craft Pompoms
  • Hot Glue Gun (high heat)
  • Hot Glue Sticks
  • Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Google Eyes
  • Felt
  • Golf tees
  1. Step 1

Visit a golf ball shop that deals in "experienced balls". For each animal you will need between 5 & 9 balls, more for larger projects.
Set out all of your materials for your animal, pre heat your glue gun with a glue stick in it, and make sure your golf balls are all free from debris. There is nothing more frustrating in this project than golf balls that wont hold together because of sand, lose paint, or pealing plastic coat. A sanding sponge is a great way to accomplish this.

  2. Step 2

Arrange your golf balls as such. 4 sets of 2 golf balls. Glue 2 balls together in each set to make a figure 8. 2 of the sets of 2 will be legs, 1 set of 2 will be your body, and 1 set will be your head, and muzzle.

Depending on what type of animal you are making you may want to make the body with only 1 of the golf balls. Once you decide upon that you can glue the body to one of the sets of 2 legs, gluing each of the golf balls of the body in between the 2 golf balls of the front legs and back legs.

To attach the head I have found that making contact with the head and muzzle ball to the chest ball of the animal is more sturdy. But make yours your own.

After all of your glue has dried select your ears from your pompoms and placing a nickel sized glob of glue on either the head or the pompom place the pompoms on the head where you want them.

Now place your googly eyes, and cut a piece of felt for the mouth, and glue the tee to the caboose for the tail. You initial animal is ready.

  3. Step 3

From there add accent paint if you want to areas, other colors of pompoms for fur effects, and maybe mount it on a wood slab for a more sturdy mounting.

Tips & Warnings
  • Clean the golf balls first
  • use the high heat gun, and glue for better sticking
  • be creative
  • CAUTION THE GLUE IS VERY HOT IT CAN BURN YOU
