No special shampoos are necessary, if you get rid of your unwelcome guests before they have time to unpack and lay eggs.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

React quickly to first signs of itching of the scalp. Your brain is letting you know, you're being invaded. The first step, if the option is available, is to step out into direct sunlight and comb your hair continuously and thoroughly with the finest tooth comb that can consistently go through your hair. The heat from direct sunlight may kill some of the lice and make the rest feel uncomfortable.

  2. Step 2

The second choice is to use the hottest setting of a hair dryer to kill as many lice as you can. Comb out as many lice as you can into a trash can. (Outside in the sun is first choice, because you don't have to worry about combing live lice, into your house, that might find there way back to you know where).

  3. Step 3

After you've combed out the great majority of the lice, get out a bottle of Wintergreen alcohol. Put a sweat band around your head, if you have one. Use a thumb or finger to limit the flow of alcohol, as you pour it on your head. Now comb your alcohol soaked hair until the itching stops.

  4. Step 4

Thoroughly wetting your hair with vinegar, can kill lice. Wet your hair with vinegar at least five minutes before a shower. You can wet your hair with vinegar and leave it in your hair all night, if you prefer, but don't expect any compliments about the cologne you're wearing.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't have Wintergreen alcohol, use regular rubbing alcohol, preferably 70% alcohol.
  • Getting alcohol in your eyes probably want do serious damage, but it doesn't feel too good.
  • If you noticed the head itch after someone borrowed your hat, rub alcohol into your hat, before you put it back on.
  • It appears some barbers use talc to kill lice that are escaping from your head during a hair cut.
  • Be very cautious to not let alcohol drift from your forehead into your eyes. Have a towel handy to wipe off any alcohol, that drifts down your forehead. The sleeve of a long sleeve shirt can be used as a substitute for a towel.

on 3/2/2009 I see you can get from the barber store lice. I never had some, because I never have gone there, always cut my own hair. At least you give a good recipe.
