So you just finished a great book ... what do you read next? Walking into a book store unarmed can be a little bit overwhelming. There are discussion groups online where you can find out what other people with your like interest are reading.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Barnes and Noble Book Clubs - bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com

BarnesandNoble.com has an online community of book clubs where you can find discussions on a variety of topics. For example, I love to read books about vampires. Don't tell anyone, it does not fit my wholesome stay home mom image. Anyway, lets say I want to find other fiction books about vampires. I go to bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com. Since I am a die hard Barnes and Noble fan, I am already logged in. If you are not so die hard, log in or create your account. Once your logged in, go to the right side of the page and click on the bar that reads "choose your discussion". Here there are discussions happening on just about anything. Scroll down and find a topic you are interested in. My topic is Paranormal. Once you are in the discussion you will see there are a couple of books the group is currently reading. If you check out the discussion you will see members discussing other books they like to read or recommend. Occasionally, even the author of a book chimes in to add his or her favorite reads. I have found several books using this method.

  2. Step 2

    Amazon.com

Good ole Amazon, you just can't go wrong there. With Amazon.com you can use a variety of methods to finding a good book. Pick one of your favorite books and do a search on it. A list of books will come up. Click on your book. On this screen you will want to scroll down towards the bottom. There is lots of great info here. First, check out Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought. Here you will find a very useful list of books similar to the one you have already read. Scroll through the list to see customer reviews. You can continue browsing this way by clicking on a book, then scrolling down and finding another Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought section to look through. This can give you some great leads.

  3. Step 3

Keep going further down this screen to Customer Discussions and Active Discussions, also great discussion groups where you can see what other people who like your book are reading.

  4. Step 4

Even further down the screen is Listmania! This is a place where people create list of their favorite books, of which your current book is on. This is just another way to browse what other people, with your like interest, enjoy reading. Follow these steps and you could very well have several new books to choose from.
