How to to cure sore throat using fresh ginger root

I used ginger roots many times to cure sore throat. When I was teaching a large class, I often over used my voice and that I suffer sore throat or strained vocal chord. To relax my vocal muscles I used ginger tea using fresh ginger and it helped me a lot. Does this Spark an idea?

  • ginger 2 inches long or 1/4 lb.
  • 2-3 cups water
  • sugar or honey

Instructions

      Wash the ginger root thoroughly and crush it. You can pound it or slice it then set aside.

      Boil the 3 cups of water in a pot, in medium heat.

      Put in the pound ginger in the boiling water and put your sugar. Don't make it too sweet. Just put enough to suit your taste.

      Let it boil for few more minutes. Then, lower your heat to low setting.
      Take a cup of the ginger tea and drink it hot.

      Drink a cup of hot ginger tea every 30 minutes, until your throat felt better. You can see the result in 2 hours. Ginger should be hot.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can add more ginger if you want it more hot.

  • Add sugar or honey as you need to.
