The perfect meal for any occasion, but especially those cold wintery nights when you just want something warm and hearty. This recipe is simple and straightforward and can be prepared plenty of time in advance of dinner.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 sweet peppers chopped
  • 5 jalapeno peppers chopped
  • 2 tomatoes chopped
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1 large can tomato sauce
  • cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, chili powder
  1. Step 1

In a heated skillet cook up the ground beef until it is brown and add about a tablespoon of chili powder.

  2. Step 2

Add the vegetables (garlic, peppers, onion, tomatoes) to a heated large saucepan and cook for about 5 minutes then add the ground beef

  3. Step 3

Add the 2 cans of beans and the can of tomato sauce and season to taste with cayenne pepper, chili powder, black pepper and salt.

  4. Step 4

Allow the chili to simmer for at least an hour (sometimes i let it cook up to 5 hours) and then serve (i like to serve it over rice or pasta with some cheddar cheese and sour cream with green onions)
