How to cook the buckwheat (Kasha) in less than 40 minutes

Buckwheat makes an excellent side dish. A nutritional uniqueness of buckwheat is the quality of protein it contains.
It also has B vitamins and is rich in phosphorus, potassium, iron, and calcium.

The easiest and quickest way of cooking buckwheat is described in this recipe.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 package of buckwheat
  • 6 cups of water
  • Salt
  1. Step 1

    Pour 1 package of the buckwheat into a microwave-safe dish

  2. Step 2

    Add 6 cups of water and 2 teaspoons salt. Spread salt around so that it will be distributed equally.

  3. Step 3

    Place dish in the microwave with the closed lid; cook 25 minutes on High.

  4. Step 4

    In half-way down pull out a dish and mix Kasha slightly.

  5. Step 5

    Put a dish back into the microwave and finish cooking time.

  6. Step 6

    Open a lid and cook 10 more minutes with the open lid.

  7. Step 7

    If you need transfer Kasha to another dish to store in the fridge.

  8. Step 8

    Before serving fry Kasha slightly on the frying pan just to warm it up.

Tips & Warnings
  • Every microwave is different. Check in 25 minutes. Kasha should be very soft.
