How to Access Share Files with other users On A Mac

To share files on your Mac with other network users, you must set up a network resource. You can share an entire disk. or you can share just individual folders. And you can restrict access to certain users, if you want.

Things You'll Need:

• Before you can share files with other users, you must activate the AppleTalk file-sharing feature, and always patience.

1. Chhose the choser from the Apple menu.

2. Click the AppleShare icon from the Chooser window.

3. Click the name of the computer you want to access. (If your network has zones, you must first click the zone you want to access)

4. Click Ok.

5. A login screen appears. If you're a registered user on the computer, click the Registered User button and enter the user name and password. Otherwise click the Guest button and then click Ok.

6. A list of shared folders ad disks appear. Click the ones you want to access and then click Ok.

Tips & Warnings

• A checkbox appears next to each item on the list. If you check this box, you connect to the folder or dish automatically each time you start your computer.
