This is a must for the fall season. All the great things about bread pudding with the added plus of a pumpkin pie taste.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 egg, 3 egg yolks, 1 1/2 cups milk, 2/3 cup sugar, 3/4 cup pumpkin puree, 1tsp. vanilla extract, 1/8tsp. salt, 1/4tsp. cinnamon, 1/4tsp. nutmeg, 1/4tsp ground cloves, 3 1/2 cups bread cubes, 2tbsp. b
  1. Step 1

Preheat oven to 350*. Lightly grease 6 large custard cups. If you don't have custard cups you can also use a 13x9 pan.

  2. Step 2

In a large bowl whisk together egg and egg yolks. Add the milk, sugar, pumpkin, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves;whisk into a smooth batter.

  3. Step 3

Layer your bread cubes into the custard cups. I like to use and egg bread but feel free to use and kind of bread you like. Just be sure that it will hold up in the pumpkin custard.

  4. Step 4

After you have placed your bread cubes in their dishes, pour the pumpkin mixture evenly over the bread. I also like to let mine set for 5 minutes, that way the bread will soak up some of the custard mixture. But you don't have to.

  5. Step 5

If using custard cups, arrange them in a shallow baking pan and fill pan about halfway with hot water. Bake at 350* for about 40 minutes, or until golden brown and fluffy.
