Have you ever been listening to your iPod and had a new song come on only to find out that it is far louder (or softer) than the previous song? This is due to the level that the song was recorded or ripped at.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    For Sound Check to work, you will need to enable it in iTunes first. So lets go to the preferences (or settings if you are on windows) in iTunes.

  2. Step 2

    Go to the playback tab and turn on Sound Check

  3. Step 3

    Once you turn this on, iTunes will go through all your music and check the volume level. Depending on the size of your iTunes library this can take quite a while.

  4. Step 4

    Once iTunes is done checking, sync your iPhone

    On your iPhone, go to Settings

    Go to iPod settings, scroll down in settings

    Turn on Sound Check

  8. Step 8

    Now all of your music should play at a similar volume

  • This does use more battery power than when off
