Things You'll Need:
- 1-2 cups navy or pinto beans
- 1 package onion soup mix
- 1 fresh tomato
- 2 small fresh carrots
- 1/2 medium white onion
- 1 stalk fresh celery
- several fresh mushrooms (optional)
- 1/2 cup cubed lean pork (optional)
- 2-3 small red potatoes (leave skin on)
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 package onion soup mix
- sea salt to taste
- black pepper to taste

Step 1
Soak beans in warm water for 1/2 hour, this will soften and clean them. Wash all other vegetables and cut in cubes.

Step 2
Measure 1 cup of beans to 4 cups of water (4 servings) increase amounts of everything for larger servings

Step 3
Bring beans and water to rapid boil. Add all other ingredients. Cook for 1 -2 hours until beans are done.
