Things You'll Need:
- newspaper
- internet
- flyers
-
Step 1
You have made the decision to get a pet, but you want to get him or her for free. Start by looking in the newspaper. Most local papers have a section under classifieds: pets-it will list pets available and the prices. sometimes free pets are listed in this section.
-
Step 2
In the classifieds, there may also be a section that states "free" or "free to a good home".
-
Step 3
Craigslist also has a section for pets. They can be for a price, an adoption fee, or free.
-
Step 4
Freecycle.com also allows you to either see if others are posting pets or you can post your request for a free pet under "wanted". You can request a specific pet on freecycle.com. I thing is if you request pet, it may take a few times of posting before you get a response.
-
Step 5
Contact your local vet clinic to see if they know of any client who is giving up their pet. Sometimes, a client has to get rid of pet due to moving, age or their pet is having babies that they can not care for.
-
Step 6
You can also look at your local supermarket for flyers with pets for free.

on 10/3/2008 Petfinder has a personal list of people trying to rehome their pets. The people are supposed to require a few, but many are negotiable or only put a few because it is a requirement. Good tips. Great photo choices. 5
