When Baby wants to jump on either you or someone else, that can be annoying. If she scratches as well then double the indemnity! Now you can teach her a in just a couple of simple steps not to.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A stern but loving tone of voice
  • patience
  1. Step 1
    A Shih Tzu puppy
    A Shih Tzu puppy

Sometimes a dog whether large or small gets the urge to climb up on you, doesn't always mean that something is wrong, but most times it just simply means she wants a little attention or is bored.
When she does this, first take both paws in your hands, gently put them back down on the ground, and say "No" in a firm voice.

  2. Step 2

Another way ti teach her not to do this is gently push her off of you, but I would not recommend this unless she is a large dog, over 40 lbs. Also say "No" in a firm voice.

  3. Step 3

That's basically it, you must teach her these commands if you want you dog to be a well-behaved and obedient pet. Most people that you have for company will not enjoy this practice, of her jumping on them, so it is imperative to begin early in your dog's life to let her know that it's not "nice" to jump on people. Usually while she is still young and impressionable is the best time to start, but i' d recommend begin this at least as soon as you bring her home. Most puppies can begin this training as soon as you've started to leash train them.
