Things You'll Need:
- spiders
- spider web
- cardboard
-
Step 1
Start by planning where you want the spider garden. It works best when you have adjacent trees or a light post and a tree as a support for the spider webs. If you don't have that in your garden then use one tree and put a stake next to it in the yard, or a scarecrow for the other "tree".
-
Step 2
You can also use a garden arch as the support for your web, or the top of your roof and have the web come down to a tree branch.
-
Step 3
Start by weaving your spider web from one tree to the next tree, stretching the spider web across. To make the web look real, take a small bit from your bag and stretch it and build your web up from that. Take your time and keep adding to your web and stepping back to see how it looks.
-
Step 4
Take your bag of plastic spiders or you can also buy larger more colorful spiders and place them in the tree and around the web. You can use larger spiders and use smaller spiders as babies. You can also take little pieces of toilet paper and roll it into a small oblong piece and then wrap the web around it to make it look like "prey" and put that in your spider web.
-
Step 5
Add a sign and put it in the tree branch or on your front porch that says "Beware of Spiders".
-
Step 6
So that your spider garden shows up at night. Add lighting. Put the light farther up in the tree than the web, so that it shines down on it. You can also use a red or green or purple bulb for a great effect.
