It is often hard to keep stuffed animals clean without throwing them in the washing machine. This article will tell you how to freshen them up in a few simple steps.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1
    Toy bag
     
    Toy bag

    Place toys in a bag.

  2. Step 2
    Baking soda
     
    Baking soda

    Pour ½ cup of baking soda into bag.

  3. Step 3
    Remove Odor
     
    Remove Odor

    Shake toys around until they are well coated. The baking soda will help draw out any dirt, soot, and odors.

  4. Step 4
    Clean
     
    Clean

    Remove toys from bag and dust off any large amounts of baking soda.

  5. Step 5
    Vacuum
     
    Vacuum

    Use a vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment to suck up any remaining residue.

on 7/24/2009 I just tried this with my son's plush rattles since they can't be put in the washing machine, and the baking soda didn't really do anything to clean them. The vacuuming just fluffed them up a little.
