Things You'll Need:
- Neutrogena products
- oil-free beauty products
-
Step 1
Wear very little or no makeup. If you choose to wear makeup, get the oil free products only. Makeup that contains oil will irritate your skin and may cause a major breakout. Many beauty products are designed for acne oily skin and will indicate this on their packaging. Products that do not have this indication on their packaging will not suit your skin no matter what.
-
Step 2
Wash your face twice a day, three times at most. Do not over wash because your skin will compensate for the lack of oil and produce even more oil. When washing your face, use warm water because oil dissolves better in warm water than cold water. Cold water will shrink your pores and as a result the oil is trapped under your skin which could result in a bad breakout. Washing your skin is an important part in the daily oily skin care regimen.
-
Step 3
oily skin washUse face washes that are designed for acne prone or oily skin.
popular brands are: Neutrogena, clean and clear, biore, and others. Neutrogena is a good brand because it provides good cleaning and does not irritate sensitive skin.
Biore have nose strips that are designed to remove blackheads (another common problem for oily skin). -
Step 4
oily skin oil-free moisturizerOne misconception about acne oily skin is that we must strip the skin of its oil. Nothing could be further from the truth. Although it is important to keep your skin's oil production under control, it is important to use moisturizer on your face once every other day to keep your skin hydrated and in the best condition. Again it is imperative that you choose a moisturizer that's oil-free and light.

on 9/27/2008 Interesting. I enjoyed reading this...well written. But I agree with Thims, it would concern me to wash that frequently. Thanks for sharing. 5*s
