How to Destroy Other Tribes in the Tribal Phase of Spore

After you meet a tribe or two, you will encounter several more. Some of these tribes are guaranteed to be hostile. If you can't befriend them, your only option is destruction. Before you send your tribe off hooting and hollering to war, there are a few things you should know.

1. Save up food. War with another tribe is usually costly. Some of your creatures will die and some of your village may be destroyed. In order to replace these losses quickly, make sure you have a large store of food saved up.

2. Build some weapons. Your tribe begins with the option to build one of three weapon types. You can build Torches, Spears and Axes. Each one will work for destroying the enemy, and a combination of all three works best. You will gain new weapon types by befriending or destroying other tribes. Make sure your tribe is equipped with some kind of weapon before you go to war.

3. Bolster your strength. Always make sure you have enough tribe members on your side before you go to war. Attacking an enemy tribe with just a few creatures is a recipe for disaster. Never attack an enemy who has more tribe members than you do. If at all possible, you will want to outnumber your enemy.

4. Make some friends. If you have some allied tribes on your side, it is quite possible that some of them may go to war with your enemy tribe. If they do, all you need to do is swoop in at the last minute and finish them off.

5. Strike when your enemy is weak. One of the best times to attack your enemy is right after they have attacked you. Their tribe members will be either dead or scattered, leaving you time to rush in and destroy their village. Another good time to attack is when your enemy is attacking someone else. Their forces will be divided, allowing you an easy shot at their village.
