Things You'll Need

  • Saucepan
  • Wooden spoon
  • 7 tablespoons milk
  • 5 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 9 ounces milk chocolate, finely chopped
  • Knife
  • Whisk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Chilled mixing bowl

Instructions

      Chop the milk chocolate into fine pieces with a sharp kitchen knife and set aside.

      Combine the milk, sugar, butter and vanilla extract into a saucepan over medium heat. Stir with a wooden spoon until sugar dissolves.

      Adjust to medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil. Remove from heat.

      Add chocolate to the mixture. Swirl the saucepan to cover the chocolate with the mixture. Allow the chocolate to melt for about three minutes.
