Go to different stores and lay down on the different mattress. Even though a memory mattress if vastly different from inner spring mattress, they can be very different themselves. There are different heights made with different layers. Some have different covers. Going to the store can give you a general idea of what you think you would enjoy. You will find a huge cost difference as well. I am focusing on the less expensive brands for the purpose of this article.

Go online and research the original Tempurpedic Mattress. www.Tempur-Pedic.com. Look at the size you believe you like and see how it is made. A "Classic" mattress, which is the one most other online stores have a comparison for, is generally 3" of memory foam and 6" of support foam.

Next, do some Google searches on Memory Foam Mattress. The top sites will usually come up. Three of these are Bragada.com, Bedinabox.com, and Angelbeds.com. They have other link names, just keep clicking until you find them. As you read you will see the similarities and differences to the "Classic" mattress and to the mattresses you have already tried in the store.

There are advantages to buying online. These guys know you are buying a mattress sight unseen, so they offer some kind of trial period. You can return the mattress after you have tried it for a period of time. This is great. Most stores will not take your mattress back once it has been delivered. A "used" mattress can not be resold. So furniture stores don't want to take them back. Reputable online stores will donate them to charity. Something you spend so much time on is a hard decision to make if you have only laid on it for 15 minutes. You really need a few weeks to decide.

Check the warranties. These companies sometimes offer warranties comparative or better than in the store. Some offer lifetime warranties. So you can take comfort if something goes wrong over time.

Some of the better online companies offer tax free and free delivery rates. That is something you can't get in a store. However, free delivery means dropped on your door step. You set it up and haul away the old one. But, again it was a free delivery.

Go online to sites like epinions.com and viewpoints.com to see how others feel about the mattress company you are thinking about. I feel this is the great influence on a mattress buying decision. See what other people feel about the mattress company and their products.

Lastly, do a price comparison. Most of the better quality mattress sites use the same materials or more advanced material than the original. And the original foam mattress company spends a lot on advertising, therefore increasing the cost of their mattresses. Imagine a mattress almost identical, half the cost, no taxes, free shipping, same great warranty and a couple of months to decide if you really like it. This is what good quality online stores are offering. Just make sure you do the research on the company and their products before making the purchase.
