How to Make A Loaf Of Prune-Nut Bread.

This is a delicious bread full of healthy ingredients.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butte
  • 1 cup chopped, cooked, prunes
  • 3/4 cup chopped nuts of your choice.
  1. Step 1

    Heat oven to 350 degrees.

    Butter an 8 inch loaf pan. Line the bottom and butter the lining paper as well.

  2. Step 2

    Mix together well the flours, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

    Mix in the rolled oats.

  3. Step 3

    In a smaller bowl, mix together, the buttermilk and melted butter.

    Stir in the prunes and nuts.

    Add the liquid mixture, all at once, to the flour mixture.

    Stir together, ONLY until the flour mixture is moistened.

    OVER-MIXING WILL GIVE YOU A DENSE FLAT LOAF.

  4. Step 4

    Bake for approximately 60 minutes or until bread tests done.

    Cool slightly. Remove from pan and cool completely on rack.
