How to Make An Easy Loaf Of Banana-Nut Bread That Includes Bran.

This bread is very healthy and tasty as well.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups bran
  • 3/4 cup chppped nuts of your choice
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed bananas
  • 1 beaten egg
  1. Step 1

    Heat oven to 350 degrees.

    Butter an 8 inch loaf pan. Line the bottom and butter the lining.

  2. Step 2

    Mix together well the flours, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar. Mix in the bran and nuts.

    In a smaller bowl, beat together, the melted butter, mashed bananas and the egg.

  3. Step 3

    Add the liquid mixture, all at once, to the flour mixture.

    Stir together, ONLY, until the dry ingredients are moist.

    OVER-MIXING WILL GIVE YOU A FLAT, DENSE LOAF.

  4. Step 4

    Pour batter into the prepared pan.

    Bake for approximately 60 minutes or until bread tests done.

    Cool slightly. Remove from pan to rack and cool completely.
