Things You'll Need:
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 1/4 cups bran
- 3/4 cup chppped nuts of your choice
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 1/2 cups mashed bananas
- 1 beaten egg

Step 1
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Butter an 8 inch loaf pan. Line the bottom and butter the lining. -
Step 2
Mix together well the flours, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar. Mix in the bran and nuts.
In a smaller bowl, beat together, the melted butter, mashed bananas and the egg. -
Step 3
Add the liquid mixture, all at once, to the flour mixture.
Stir together, ONLY, until the dry ingredients are moist.
OVER-MIXING WILL GIVE YOU A FLAT, DENSE LOAF. -
Step 4
Pour batter into the prepared pan.
Bake for approximately 60 minutes or until bread tests done.
Cool slightly. Remove from pan to rack and cool completely.
