How to Handle a Green Laser Pointer Creatively and Safely

Green laser pointer rocks!!We see so many lasers everyday even we don't have one, and we are surprised that how funny it can be in other hands, but once we bought one, we wanna use it creatively, yeah, different from others. The day I received the waterproof 200mw green laser pointer from LaserPointerPen.Net, I begin to think hard how to use it creatively, and here I feel obliged to share with all laser lovers.

Tips & Warnings

• Relax and don't be scared. As far as power output, Most laser pointers and portable lasers do not release that much power. Especially not when compared to a normal 75W or 100W light globe. What makes the light from lasers so dangerous is that it has two unique properties.
• Coherent and focused. The energy is focused on a very small area similar to the way a magnifying glass focuses the sun.
• Collimated. The light does not spread out from a laser, it stays in a focused narrow beam that makes lasers almost as dangerous at a distance as close up. This does not mean one should avoid using lasers and what you need do is use lasers with care.Be aware of their dangers and follow some basic guidelines to ensure your safety.
• 1. Never point your laser at another person, especially their face or eyes. 2. You'd better not look directly into the laser beam. Even if it is a low powered laser, it will be damaging if you stare at it for quite a while. 3. Always be conscious of and aware of reflective surfaces such as mirrors, polished metal or glass. A reflected beam can also harm your eyes. 4. Only use a high powered green laser in a controlled environment. 5. Do not let other people, esp. kids, use your laser unless they are fully aware of the dangers of lasers. 6. Laser beams can go for miles so never randomly use your laser outside. 7. Wear laser safety glasses if you are using your high power laser for dangerous applications. If you adhere to these guidelines and exercise simple common sense and care, you will be able to enjoy and use your high power lasers in complete safety. They could certainly bring more funs to your life.

yeah, but if you use it properly or not shine it at the eyes, it's safely.
Nearly any stuff is dangerous in some sense,so it's up to the user to do harm or good.

on 9/26/2008 oh, I don't know the output power you want, and I got a 50mw and 150mw green laser last year from Highlasers.com, and bought a 200mw green laser from Laserto.com last month. The laser price seem to have advanced this year.You can try Laserto.com, but the over 150mw or 200mw laser is expensive. But the quality is good enough. It works well now.
