Make Scrumptious Skillet Lasagna

Here's a wonderful recipe for Skillet Lasagna. It's a favorite of the family...so rich and delicious!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 10 lasagna noodles (I sometimes use less..it depends on the size of your skillet)
  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 1 small minced onion
  • 1 (26 oz. or larger) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 8 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese
  1. Step 1

Prepare lasagna noodles as label directs. Drain.

  2. Step 2

Meanwhile, in 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat, cook sausage and onion until meat is browned and onion is tender. Stir in two-thirds of spaghetti sauce; cook until heated through. Spoon half of meat mixture into small bowl; set aside. Reduce heat to low and keep remaining meat mixture in skillet simmering.

  3. Step 3

In small bowl, combine cream cheese and egg. Spoon half of cheese mixture evenly over the meat mixture in skillet. Top with half of lasagna noodles. Sprinkle with half of mozzarella. Repeat layering with remaining meat mixture, cream cheese mixture, lasagna pasta, then remaining sauce and mozzarella. Cover. Cook until heated through (about 8-10 minutes).

    Serves 6

Tips & Warnings
  • I normally add more spaghetti sauce and use a little less onion. I also don't always use 10 noodles and find it helpful to break some of the noodles up so they'll fit easier in the skillet.
