Make sure the natural hair dyes you make from food are safe for your hair. This is especially important if you have a relaxer or other chemicals in your hair. Ask your hair stylist if the herbs or other natural treatments you plan on using will interact with the chemicals in your relaxer. Or you can test it your self by putting the treatment on a small section of your hair.

Decide what color you want your hair to be and then make your treatment. You can use calendula or chamomile if you want golden highlights. If you want to add a hint of red to your tresses, use hibiscus. For a chocolate effect, use black tea, or rosemary sage. Take about 4 tablespoons of the dried version of your herb of choice, combine it with about 3 cups of water and put it in a non-aluminum pot. Bring it to a boil. Then let it simmer until about half of the liquid has evaporated. Put it in a mist bottle. Wash your hair, condition it, and then put the desired amount of the color treatment on your hair.

Here's how you can make a natural hair dye to bleach your hair. First wash your hair and let it stay wet. Then combine one cup of regular conditioner with three fourths of a cup of honey. Put it on your hair and then put a plastic cap on your head. Leave it on for about 45 minutes and then rinse it off. The honey will lighten your hair because it contains natural hydrogen peroxide. You may not notice drastic results right away. But if you do this regularly, the color of your hair will lighten over time.

Tips & Warnings

I never thought of doing this before, this seems so simple and so healthy. It's like spilling some tea on your clothing, or a piece of paper, and you get a stain.
