Step 1
Contact the Erie City Mission. The City Mission is a faith-based outreach program which donates items such as food and clothing to the needy. The City Mission also runs several thrift shops in the area. To learn what food items are currently being requested by the City Mission, go to the “Food and Item Needs” list on its website. You can drop food of at 1105 W. 12th Street in Erie.
-
Step 2
Give to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania. Second Harvest donates more food in the Erie area than any other organization. To ensure that the Food Bank can use your donations, Second Harvest asks that you consult the “Most Needed Item List” link on the resources section of its website.
-
Step 3
Donate to the Emmaus Soup Kitchen. Run by the Benedictine Sisters of Erie, the soup kitchen offers hot meals each day of the year. For this reason, Emmaus is in constant need of donations. This is especially true during the winter months, most notably around Thanksgiving and Christmas. Call 814-459-8754 for more details.
-
Step 4
Call St. Joseph Church Bread of Life Community. Throughout the year, St Joe's will run a food pantry for needy families. These occur when there are enough supplies so you will need to contact the church directly. Call the office at 814-452-2982 to learn how you can help. You can also email the church at Office@stjoesbol.org.

Step 5
Contact the North East Community Food Pantry. Unfortunately, there are plenty of needy families who live outside of the city of Erie. The food pantry in North East services families in the towns of North East, Harborcreek and other suburbs in the area. Call 814-725-9777 to learn what items are needed.
