Instructions

    • 1

Measure a circle which is 2 feet in diameter on a piece of corrugated cardboard. To get a circle which is perfectly even, tie a 1-foot string to two pencils and draw with the second pencil. Place another piece of cardboard underneath the first piece and cut the circle out with a craft blade.

    • 2

Measure another smaller circle in the middle using the pencil and string method. Cut that circle out as well.

    • 3

Gather evergreen scraps from your yard. Look for pine trees which need to be trimmed and berries which have become overgrown.

    • 4

Attach the pine sprigs to the cardboard wreath base with hot glue. Glue on any decorative yard scraps after the pine has been attached.

    • 5

Assemble several small snowmen out of the styrofoam balls. Place a larger ball on bottom, a medium ball in the middle and a small one on top. Use toothpicks to put the balls together.

    • 6

Cut a tiny piece of orange felt and secure it to the small styrofoam ball with craft glue. Attach tiny black pom poms for the eyes, mouth and buttons. Push tiny twigs into the sides of the medium ball to serve as arms.

    • 7

Cut out a slender scarf from brightly colored felt. Create colorful winter hats for some of the snowmen and leave others bareheaded. Glue the accessories on, and allow the glue to dry completely before continuing.

    • 8

Attach the snowmen to the wreath with floral wire. Arrange them on the wreath so that similar snowmen are spaced widely apart. Display the wreath on a door with a hook and wire.

Tips & Warnings

  • For a more attractive and elaborate snowman craft project, bind and dry some grape or pumpkin vines to use as a base.

  • Vary the color of the hats and scarves for greater interest.

  • Don't use hot glue to attach the snowmen to the wreath; it will melt the styrofoam.
