No diaper genie? Tired of that smell near your baby's changing table? These few tips will help you eliminate unwanted waste odors!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Lysol or Clorox disinfectant wipes
  • febreze Air Effects (optional)
  1. Step 1

When changing your baby's diaper, make sure to dump excess waste into the toilet rather than just throwing the whole diaper into the diaper pail. This will greatly eliminate the amount of smell-producing material.

  2. Step 2

Change the diaper pail often... at least twice a week. Get the smelly bag out of the house as soon as you can.

  3. Step 3

When changing, wipe the entire interior surface of the diaper pail with a disinfectant wipe before putting in a new liner bag. For extra smell reduction, spray febreze Air Effects lightly over the pail.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep your diaper pail as dry as possible. Wipe it out with a paper towel after spraying anything liquid into it. Excess moisture makes smells worse!
  • Spray with febreze only VERY lightly. Too much scent can develop into an unappealing sweet smell over time.

on 9/25/2008 The more often you empty the diaper pail, the less smell you'll have! Twice/week is just a suggested minimum.

on 9/25/2008 YUCK! I throw out the diaper pail every time I have a poopie diaper (so approx. once a day). That amonia smell from old peepee diapers is toxic!
