How to Apply Minoxidil Foam

Minoxidil foam is a newer alternative to the original Minoxidil liquid hair loss treatment. The foam version of Minoxidil is less messy and easier to apply. Some studies indicate that it actually works better than the original Minoxidil liquid. But for this medication to achieve its optimal results, it must be applied correctly. Learn how to apply Minoxidil foam correctly to your balding areas.

Instructions

1. Shake the can of Minoxidil foam well. Prior to application, shake the can of Minoxidil foam vigorously for a few seconds. Doing this will ensure that all of the ingredients are well-mixed and eject in adequate doses upon application.

2. Isolate the balding area. Standing in front of a mirror, locate the balding area on your head. You may need to also use a hand-held beauty mirror.

3. Expose the balding areas. Gently move aside any overlying rungs of hair to completely expose as much open scalp as possible.

4. Apply Minoxidil Foam. Angle the tip of the Minoxidil can directly above the area to be treated on your scalp and gently press the applicator button to apply a small amount of foam, covering the entire area. Don't go overboard; a small bit of foam goes a long way. As long as you spray enough foam to adequately saturate the intended area, you have applied enough.

5. Rub the foam into your scalp. After applying the medication to your scalp, gently rub and spread the foam around with your fingers, taking special care to work the foam directly into the intended areas of treatment. After ensuring adequate coverage, you are done until your next application.
