How to Make a Domino Table

There's no need to buy an expensive domino table. By recycling an old card table, you can make a nifty domino table of your own. By creating a unique table with easy to use supplies, you'll encourage friends and family to play dominoes.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• 37" Folding card table
• E600 Craft glue
• 2' Strip of curved wood molding with flat bottom
• 2' x 2' Square 1/2" pine
• Water-based varnish
• Medium grit sandpaper
• Paint brush
• Acrylic paint (optional)

1. Clean table surface with soap and water. Dry completely.

2. Measure and cut the 1/2" wood into a 2' x 2' square. Sand it smooth. (Painting with your choice of color is optional. Let it dry.)Apply water-based varnish. Dry, sand and apply a second coat of varnish. Dry.

3. Cut curved moulding into 4 - 12" sections, sand smooth and varnish top surface only. Don't varnish flat surface on the bottom. Dry, and varnish again. (Molding resembles Scrabble game piece holders.)

4. Glue 2' square board onto center of table using E600 glue. Place a heavy object on top of wood until the board is secured in place.

5. Apply glue to the bottom of curved molding and place it 6" in from table edge. Repeat on each side of the table to make 4 settings to hold dominoes. Let it dry.

Tips & Warnings

• Wipe sanded surfaces to remove any dust before applying additional varnish.
• Varnish in ventilated area.
