A clothespin angel ornament can be the perfect addition to your Christmas tree or garlands and wreaths around your home during any holiday season. Easy enough for children to make, these unique crafts can be given as small gifts to friends and coworkers. It's made from a clothespin and a few other basic craft supplies, and only takes a few minutes to create.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Old-fashioned clothespin with the ball on top
  • Small square of fabric
  • Hot glue sticks
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • White craft foam
  • 2 pink, brown, or black pipe cleaners
  • 1 glittery gold or silver pipe cleaner
  • Black marker
  • Yarn
  1. Step 1

Draw a face onto the top, rounded knob of the clothespin. You can make a simple smiley face with dot eyes and a nose, or you can get more creative.

  2. Step 2

Cut some yarn into short strands and glue some to the top of the clothespin to form hair for your angel ornament.

  3. Step 3

Wrap a small square around the body of the clothespin angel under the head, and secure it with glue in the back. This will make the dress for your clothespin angel ornament, so choose whichever color of material you like and cut off any excess fabric that is hanging over the legs of the clothespin.

  4. Step 4

Use scissors to cut out two angel wing shapes from white craft foam. Secure them with hot glue to the dress in the back of the clothespin.

  5. Step 5

Hot glue one pink, brown or black pipe cleaner to each shoulder of the clothespin angel underneath the head and on the sides of the clothespin. These form the arms of your angel, and you can choose whichever color of pipe cleaner you like to create the desired skin tone.

  6. Step 6

Hook the pipe cleaner arms around each other in the front of the angel's body to form folded hands. You can make a small book, flower, or other object for the angel to hold if you want.

  7. Step 7

Form a halo shape out of a glittery gold or silver pipe cleaner and apply it to the back of the angel's head with hot glue.

  8. Step 8

Glue or tie a piece of string or ribbon to the top of the angel's head or halo to hang it up around your home, or on your Christmas tree. See Resources below for more unique angel craft ideas.

Tips & Warnings
  • Line the angel's wings in gold or silver glitter to make it sparkly.
  • Design nicer clothes for your angel by crocheting dresses, or cutting and sewing patterns from fabric.
  • Use caution when working with a hot glue gun, and keep it away from children and pets.
