Deleting unwanted apps from an Apple iOS device like the iPod Touch is a good way to free up storage space and to keep the home screen uncluttered. Deleting an app takes only a few seconds and can be done on the iPod Touch home screen. Internet access isn't required to delete an app.
Touch and hold any app you want to delete on the iPod Touch home screen. After a second or two, the icons begin to shake. A small "X" appears in the corner of any app that can be deleted.
Click the "X" button on the app icon you wish to delete.
Tap "Delete" to confirm the action. If prompted, select whether or not you want the app's related data deleted from the iPod Touch. For example, you may be able to delete a game, but keep your scores on the device. This option is not always available. When the icon disappears, the app has been removed from the iPod Touch.
Tips & Warnings
- The Apple applications that were originally installed on the iPod Touch when you bought it cannot be deleted.
- If you change your mind, you can download an app from the App Store on the iPod Touch. If you paid money for the app, you don't have to pay for it again.
