1
Log online and visit craigslist.org. Post your used items for sale for a reasonable price. Only list your email or phone number so that you will not have strange persons arriving at your home. Used items can also be listed in the local paper or with fliers around town. Accept only cash or cashier's checks from prospective buyers (see Resources below).
-
2
Host a garage sale with all of the used items that you do not need anymore. Ask family and friends if they have anything that they would like to get rid of to support you. You may even ask if your family and friends will give you half of the profits if you're the one who advertises and sells the items. Garage or yard sales are most profitable on Saturday mornings, so be prepared to have all of your items out before 7 a.m. Clearly mark high traffic routes to attract the largest possible amount of customers, and advertise in your local paper.

3
Host a car wash by advertising an irresistible price. Offer persons driving by a quick outside wash for $5 or $6 posted on large signs. Clearly mark your car was area, and always greet your customers with a smile.
-
4
Ask your neighbors if they would like their lawn mowed or their bushes trimmed. Agree on a reasonable price that is too good for them to pass up on. If they have a gardener, then ask if they would like to have some weeds pulled, some hedges trimmed or a fence painted. Offer to help them with the household tasks that most people will gladly pay someone else to do.

5
Clean your neighbors' windows. Most people do not like to get out the window cleaner and wash the outside of their homes. Offer to make their windows sparkle in just a short while at an agreed-upon price. If their windows do not need washing, then offer to walk their family pet or even give their pet a bath.

Tips & Warnings
Have a polite approach with your neighbors and they will likely have some task they need done around their home.
Do not beg family and friends for money; instead, use creative ways to raise cash quickly on your own.
