Microsoft Picture Manager is the image editing program now included in the Microsoft Office software bundle. Feature-rich and user-friendly, Picture Manager's image editing tools are amazingly comparable--and often better--than those offered in Adobe Photoshop and other popular, high-end editors. Picture Manager's highly functional cropping feature, for example, far outshines Adobe's resizing option and provides a fun, full-featured way to customize editing projects. In just a few simple steps, the Picture Manager Crop Tool allows the user to redefine images and pictures by moving, manipulating, including and excluding specific objects and areas within the image workspace.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open the Crop Options Tool pane. Click on "Pictures" from the top right menu and choose "Crop" from the drop-down list, or clicking on "Edit Pictures" option at top left.

  2. Step 2

Locate the Crop Options Tools pane, which should open to the right of the image workspace. Crop handles will appear on the corners and sides of the image.

  3. Step 3

Click and drag the image perimeter crop handles to crop down and isolate specific areas or objects in a picture, or manually select the pixel settings and aspect ratio in the "Crop Options Tool" pane to the right. In the workspace, all crop changes to the image are previewed in real-time as the adjustments are made.

  4. Step 4

Click "OK" in the Options pane to the right when image area crop settings are complete. Picture Manager instantly crops the image accordingly.
