How to Make a Three-Man Water Balloon Launcher

Just about everyone loves water balloon fights. Most of the time, you have to be within 20 feet of your opponent to get a good shot at them. Knowing how to make a water balloon launcher will make sure you have the equipment to destroy your opponents in a water balloon fight. A water balloon launcher is also a great idea for camping contests. It also can be a life saving device if bad goes to worse. It can assist you in putting out fires. While water balloon launchers aren't ideal for putting out forest fires, you're sure to look cool while using one.

Things You'll Need

• 1 Plastic funnel
• Drill
• Drill bit
• Masking tape
• 8 Feet of surgical tubing
• Sharp scissors
• Water balloons

Instructions

1. Pull off about 2 to 3 feet of masking tape. Wrap the tape around the bottom of the funnel (where it gets small). This is where you will be holding the water balloon launcher. This precaution will make sure the plastic funnel doesn't slip from your hand early on.

2. Take the funnel and put two marks on the top. That marks should be directly across from each other. The marks should be on the outside of the funnel. Take the drill and drill bit. Drill holes where you made the two marks. This is where you will insert the surgical tubing.

3. Using scissors, cut the surgical tubing in half. You should have 2 pieces of surgical tubing. Each piece should measure 4 feet in length.

4. Insert one piece of surgical tubing into each hole. You should insert it from the outside of the funnel. About half of a foot of surgical tubing should be placed inside the funnel.

5. Tie a knot in each piece of surgical tubing that is on the inside of the funnel. The knots should be very close to the end of the surgical tubing. Once you have a strong tight knot in each piece of tubing, pull the extra tubing back out of the funnel through the holes. The knots should be big enough so that, when they reach the holes on the inside of the funnel, they do not pass through them.

6. Take two friends outside with the launcher. One person should hold each piece of surgical tubing. The two should back up in unison, therefore stretching out the tubing. One person should hold the funnel by the end (where the masking tape is) and insert a water balloon into the funnel. The person holding the funnel should now back up holding the funnel. To make the water balloon go higher, that person should kneel towards the ground. Release the funnel and watch the water balloon fly.

7. Drill 4 holes into the funnel if you want to make better holds for your two friends. This step is optional. With 4 holes, one on each side of the top of the funnel, you can insert both ends of each piece of tubing into different holes. The tubing should be double the original size for this. Tie a knot in each end of the tubing once you insert them into the holes. Now your friends won't have to hold one line while you pull on the launcher. Remember, this step is absolutely optional.

Tips & Warnings

• Buy some water guns to go along with the water balloon launcher. This will ensure plenty of fun. It will also provide a break from the heat during the summer.

• Do not attempt to shoot anything with the launcher other than a water balloon. Any heavy or hard object can cause bodily harm or damage to the launcher...and to others.
